2021 to 2022

Our award-winning squad have competed in both local and invitational tournaments. As of this year, senior Andrew Subingsubing and junior Jokim Bryant are the first team in LAMDL History to qualify for the Tournament of Champions; this is the premiere tournament for high school debaters. We are very proud of them and commend their hard work!

 

All the best to Andrew Subingsubing and Jokim Bryant, who will be virtually competing in University of Las Vegas’ Golden Desert Invitational this weekend!

 

Special thanks go out to Jokim Bryant and Matthew Stroud for recruiting multiple judges for LAMDL’s 4th tournament and alumni Ernesto Alvarez-Flores, Adriana Castro, and Sierra Magallanes for serving as judges!

 

Congratulations to Andrew Subingsubing and Jokim Bryant for their 6-0 record in the preliminary rounds of the University of Las Vegas’ Golden Desert Invitational! They were the #1 seed coming out of the preliminaries! The team made it to the Octofinals round and we are very proud of them! There were 148 varsity debaters from across the nation competing; Andrew was recognized as the 2nd Place Speaker and Jokim as the 6th Place Speaker!!
 We would also like to recognize Novice debater Eric Tobias as the 8th Place Speaker for the Los Angeles Metropolitan Debate League’s Tournament 4!! Well done!! 

 

Andrew Subingsubing and Jokim Bryant for making it to the Octafinals round at the Peninsula Invitational last weekend! They set a new record for the Los Angeles Metropolitan Debate League (LAMDL)! Cyron Mandia & Maria Seiple did a great job at winning three rounds against some tough competition! Well done, Monarchs!

 

BEST WISHES to Andrew and Jokim as they compete in the Emory Barkley Forum Invitational this weekend; they are continuing their quest for a qualifying bid for the Tournament of Champions! Cyron & Maria, and varsity debaters Precious Alagba & Rickelle Basilio, and Frank Martinez & Nicolas Laganis as well as our Novice teams – Alliana Huerto & Christine Te and Obinna Nworgu & Eric Tobias, will be competing virtually in LAMDL’s 4th tournament of the year this weekend! Thank you for allyour hard work to prepare for these tournaments!
