ACADEMIC DECATHLON

Academic Decathlon is a grueling two-day competition that tests participants on a range of topics from math, science, art, language, literature, economics and social science in various formats. There are multiple choice, fast-paced trivia questions, essays, speeches, and interview competitions. The teams, comprised of three "A" students, three "B" students and three "C" students, spend hours studying and preparing for the competition

The competition lasted for two Saturdays, for around 8 hours a day. When the dust settled, here was the breakdown
Three Gold Medals (Iris Juanico, Jorge Hernandez, Khiem Nguyen)
One Silver (Cassanda Wood)
One Bronze (Iris Juanico)
 
We won metals in Interview, and Speech. Additionally, Iris Juanico had the highest team score.
 
Our team won 1st place in our division. Our Decathlon team will be headed to Sacramento to participate in the state competition.
