ACADEMIC DECATHLON 2025-26

The Academic Decathlon is a team competition where students match their intellects with students from other schools in LAUSD. The theme for the 2025-26 year is The Roaring 20's and the 10 topics include: Art, Economics, Language and Literature, Math, Music, Science, Social Science, Essay, Interview, and Speech. The Super Quiz topic is a combination of the seven testable subjects. Team members will be tested in all areas. Points will be awarded and totaled as a team score. Medals and scholarships will also be given for high achievement in specific areas.

Important Dates 2025-26:

**TBA - Please be aware that Oct - Jan are the busiest times for AcaDeca competition**

- Saturday in November: Mandatory Scrimmage

- Friday in January: LAUSD Online Essay - Proctored at School Sites. (Team Only)

- Saturday in January: LAUSD Competition - Objective Tests EVERYONE

- Saturday LATE Jan/ Early Feb: LAUSD Regional Competition - Speech, interview, and Superquiz (Team Only)

The California Academic Decathlon is usually in MARCH (Only for those teams invited only)
